It’s not exactly sci-fi, but it did star one of the icons of “Star Trek” and sci-fi television.
If you’re a child of the 80’s, you may remember that William Shatner had a successful television series called “T.J. Hooker.” On the series, Shatner played a veteran patrol sergeant, who ruffled feathers with his no-nonsense attitude but always got the job done. The series ran from 1982-86.
According to a Variety report, a movie version is in the planning stages with “The Mask” director Chuck Russell set to take the helm. The movie would be an action comedy that revolves around the relationship between the titular cop and his father.
Shatner starred in the original show, with movie producer David Heppe explaining “The series was the poster child for cop shows in the 1980s with great stunts, so we think there’s a fun movie to be made from it.”
Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson will write the script.
No word yet on if Shatner might have a starring or cameo role in the film.

How can we logically put this all together? T.J. are the initials from James T. Kirk, and hooker because Shatner likes to prostitute out his name for everything?? oh never mind, I give up.

The 15 min hood-riding scene is gonna be AWESOME…. Sigh…….

Is Chris Pine going to play T.J. Hooker? Maybe one of the Jonas Brothers could play Adrian Zmed’s character and Jessica Simpson can play Heather Locklear’s role. Pfft, this is a totally useless idea. I’d rather watch Leonard Nemoy sing songs of Hobbit’s.

Why must they turn these action-drama television shows into stupid comedies?
Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky & Hutch, and now TJ Hooker? Haven’t they seen that stupid comedies from action shows usually flop!
Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson, these were the guys behind Tremors.
