If you rejoiced at the news that Samuel L. Jackson had signed on for nine Marvel movies as Nick Fury and were hoping to see the character battling alongside Tony Stark in the upcoming “Iron Man” sequel, you may be a bit disappointed.

Jackson recently told MTV News that while Fury does feature in “Iron Man 2,” we won’t see the character going into action until “The Avengers” movie.

“Not this time, not yet,” Jackson said.  “We still haven’t moved Nick Fury into the bad-ass zone. He’s still just kind of a talker.”

The actor added that is he “Looking forward” to going into action when “Avengers” begins filming.

Jackson also said that he’s finished his scenes for “Iron Man 2,” indicating that he will share screen time with Robert Downey, Jr and Scarlett Johansson.

Waiting another 4-6 years (with Hollywood even this may be too optimistic) for Nick Fury to kick ass and take names in the “Avengers” movie is insane. The biggest question I have is will Samuel L. still be able to pull it off by the time they quit fracking around and make the “Avengers” movie? They should start letting him do it now so that he has to walk the walk in front of the Avengers in their separate movies while talking the talk and showing them he’s not just another government flunky who’s all show and no go.
