The young Texas girl who symbolized an era has succumed to her long battle with anal cancer. Farah Fawcett has passed away at the age of 62.
Fawcett will best be remembered as the ditzy and beautiful blonde that made up the trio of private eye babes on the 1970’s mega hit series “Charlie’s Angels” and for her stunning swimsuit poster that reigned as champion of all posters for nearly two decades.
Farrah saw her share of failed relationships which is all-to common in Hollywood. Her marriage to Lee Majors, the six million dollar man, hit the skids after 9 years and her on again-off again relationship to actor Ryan O’Neil is stuff of tabloid heaven. Through it all Farrah kept up her great sense of humor and O’Neil, who also battled cancer, turned out to be her most dedicated beau, staying by her side throughout her cancer treatment and the two even were making plans to remarry.
Farrah left “Charlie’s Angels” at the height of her success on the show to pursue a movie career that never quite took off with the same intensity as her TV show. However, as she got older more meaty roles began coming her way including her highly acclaimed starring role in the drama “The Burning Bed,” and later opposite Robert Duvall in another critically acclaimed film “The Apostle”. Some of her scifi genre movie roles included “Logan’s Run,” “Saturn 3” and guest starring with ex-hubby Majors on his hit TV series, “The Six Million Dollar Man.”
Fawcett is survived by her partner, actor Ryan O’Neal, and 24-year-old son Redmond O’Neal.
I wonder who the third one will be to go along with Farrah and Michael Jackson since it always seems like stars die in groups of 3.

It started with Bea Arthur and then David Carradine and ended with Ed McMahon. Farrah Fawcett started a new and then Michael Jackson, who will be the next one? Maybe Dick Clark or Patrick Swayze?
Actually, infomercial pitchman Billy Mays died Saturday night. He’s on TV more than enough, and they just started airing that show with him on Discovery Channel within the past couple months.
