I’d love to see a 4th season of this show because I think it still has a lot of potential, however, after Douglas Henshall’s departure the show is lacking with the loss of his dynamic personality. Now with Lucy Brown gone, two of the show’s foundational characters are missing and it is becoming obvious how important their contribution to the show has been. I do think the remaining cast and those newly added will grow into it but they definitely need a 4th season for that to happen. So, I hope it happens somehow.

Primeval is popular. But it’s expensive to make. So many networks are looking to put out “reality” shows because that’s a euphemism for “cheap”.
It would take guts for somebody to pick this show up for a 4th season. But I hope they do.
And it already has a worldwide following.

I think Jason Flyming (sp?) has been a great addition to the cast. It was a shame to see Henshall and Brown go, but Primeval is the kind of show that can survive seeing some (or eventually all) of the original cast depart–if anything, it’s better off for it.

Yes, please make it come back.

OK, so it’s not a smart show by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s still fun and campy. No ever show can be BSG, and Primeval is the best to relax to.

My previous post should have said “Not every show can be BSG”. Sorry for not spellchecking.

As much as I’ve been enjoying Primeval, I have seen what American networks do to good British series. (Coupling anyone?) If it can’t survive in the UK, I don’t want it corrupted over here.

I have watched primeval since it started and haven’t missed one yet. I would love to see a 4th season. Too many good shows are canceled before their time. Hope this isn’t one of them.

I really love this show, especially the way they keep changing the paradigm. I would love to see this show picked up for a fourth season. I am not sure who could pick it up other than Sci-Fi (or should I refer to it as the syphilis channel). Not sure they would be willing to spend the money or how bad they would screw it up (anyone remember the final season of Sliders?) I would think a partnership between Sci-Fi and ITV (?) a la the Krod Mandoon show might work.

SyFy This is the next Stargate! Go for it!

Primeval was expensive - but I find it difficult to believe that domestic and international sales, DVDs and merchandise licensing would not be enough to cover production expenses? it seems to me that the show is a hit around the world not just in England, but Spain, France, Germany, and the US. That’s not enough money? How much do show have to make to be considered a success?

We’d love to see another season of Primeval! Just hope that, if SyFy picks it up, they don’t screw it up.

I agree a 4th season of Primeval is needed and wanted. Not only do ( and my cousin watch it religiously, but even my aunt. At the very least, a mini-series or DVD movie, a la Stargate “The Ark of Truth” & “Continuim” should be produced to wrap up the loose ends. SyFy could be a viable production partner with ITV. Even if ther is no more new Primeval productions, the final episode was not a bad ending. The team saved the human race at any cost. Although I would love to get a definitive answer as to what purpose the portals were all about.

I would like to see a fourth season of Primeval, just to see where the plot is going. I just do not want to see it on the SyFy network. I would want to see it on a real network like Fox or NBC. SyFy has a habit of turning great intellectual science properties into B movies.

I haven’t seen the last eppy (I’m being patient and waiting to see it on BBC America rather than watching it on the web) but from what I’ve read it leaves us hanging. I think that at the very least they need to give us a movie that wraps up all the loose endings.

If Syfy wants to continue to build the network with shows people are actually interested in, I think that Primeval would be a perfect fit. Like someone else said it’s no BSG but it’s a lot faster paced than either Eureka or Warehouse 13 (which seem to be part of Syfy’s new build up) along with the soon to come Caprica. It would add a little variety to the lineup.

If you ask me BBC America is giving Syfy a run for it’s money on exciting SciFi programming…Torchwood, Doctor Who, Being Human, and the now cancelled Primeval. I think it would be a smart move for Syfy to snatch Primeval up.

I completely agree. It feels like ITV doesn’t care about the growing audience of Primeval fans worldwide. We, as well as the production team and cast, deserve to have the questions answered from the 3rd season finale. As an American viewer I can only hope this show gets those answers in some form. But to be honest, if there is a new cast I don’t think the audience it has acquired will appreciate different people protraying the beloved characters. I for one won’t. Hopefully someone will defend us, the audience

I think we need another season to wrap up the numerous loose ends, among them:
    1) What happens to Danny, Connor, and Abby?
    2) What is Sarah’s idea?
    3) Why did the future remain destroyed after Christine Johnson’s death?
    4) How are we going to regain the knowledge contained in the artfact?
    5) Why do anomalies open?

I really don’t care who does the fourth season, an American network or ITV, I just care that we keep the cast. Changing the actors would absolutely destroy the show!

i think that america shouldnt do it because they will probably stuff it up and make it look stupid and gay. Besides its a british program therefr it should stay british.

i havealmost completely discontinued watching american broadcasting… i am in full agreement about american tv doing primeval could be a disaster and why can’t we continue to get this program on BBCA. I do find it difficult to lose main characters so easily, something from too much watching shows like seinfeld, etc and getting used to the main characters… also, i am going to scream if they take john barrowman off of torchwood, that is - if there still is a torchwood….. very frustrating getting so into a program and then have it either changed or gone!.

I do agree that there should be a season 4 and they should find some way to bring back henshall and brown too, they both are an important character and actor. Also they should lessen the “Danny save the day” part too, its not that he a bad actor but let Becker do the action part more. But most importantly, we need SEASON 4!!!
