Panabaker, Gummer Check Into “Ward”

June 18, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

While she was promoting the reboot of “Friday the 13th” earlier this year, actress Daneille Panabaker said she wouldn’t mind being labelled a “scream queen.”

Her latest role may move her one-step closer to claiming that title.  Panabaker has been cast in the upcoming John Carpenter film, “The Ward.”

The story follows a girl, played by Amber Heard,  who is admitted to a psychiatric ward, meets other girls there with distinct personalities and discovers a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night.

Panabaker plays a patient in the institution, a snobbish girl who flirts with orderlies and faces electroshock therapy.

Mamie Gummer also has been cast as a patient.
