“Smallville” and “Supernatural” conclude their seasons tonight, starting at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
SMALLVILLE: (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) — Episode: “Doomsday”
DC Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he must kill Davis (Sam Witwer), as Doomsday is a serious threat and must be stopped at all costs. However, Clark struggles with taking a human life, so the Green Arrow and his team decide to take matters into their own hands. Lois (Erica Durance) takes on Tess (Cassidy Freeman), but the fight takes a shocking turn. Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) gets caught in the middle of Oliver and Clark’s battle over killing Davis. Aaron Ashmore also stars. James Marshall directed the episode written by Brian Peterson & Kelly Souders.
SUPERNATURAL: (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) — “Lucifer Rising “
THE BATTLE BEWTEEN HEAVEN AND HELL BEGINS The apocalypse is coming, and Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) prepare for the fight in very different ways. Sam joins Ruby (Genevieve Cortese) on a final run to kill Lilith (guest star Katherine Boecher), while Castiel (Misha Collins) and Zachariah (guest star Kurt Fuller) tell Dean it’s time to play his part in stopping Lucifer. Eric Kripke wrote and directed the episode (#3T7522).

Kripke’s directing? This’ll be interesting… and AWESOME!

It’s interesting. Both finales feature a major major enemy being released at the end of the episode.
GazerBeam says
Yes, both episodes ended with a major enemy. The difference is Supernatural had a very coherent and evenly paced story getting there, while Smallville looked like a writer’s room tornado
BlackBolt says
Smallville keeps disappointing over and over.
GazerBeam says
They were really good this year. It’s like they were planning on this being the last season and then they got renewed and scrambled to set something up for next year. The result was a messy end to an otherwise great season.
Kyle Nin says
I agree with GazerBeam. It did feel like they were trying to pack in as many “cliffhangers” as possible (like Lois being sent through time, for some reason). Frankly, the episode seemed rushed.
But Season 8 as a whole is, in my opinion, the best that “Smallville” so far has to offer. Hopefully, next season will be even better. But even if it’s only as good as this season, I know I’ll still enjoy watching it.
