    The Spirit of Trek (and a bit of Star Wars) Lives in “Star Trek”! However it breaks many established Trek traditions. With so much right with the film it is a shame that the core is unstable and leaves one who knows the mythology shaking ones head. Just as James Bond is no longer the Bond of fond memories, so too now is “Star Trek” is no longer the trek we knew and loved.

    And….as a 40+ year Trek fan, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. JJ did it right and one can only hope those who follow him will continue to do the same.
