"Greatest American Hero" Delayed?

Has production on big-screen version of “The Greatest American Hero” been delayed?

That’s the word according to actor Eric Christian Olsen, who had been tapped to play the lead role of schoolteacher-turned-superhero Ralph Hinkley.

“I went in for it right after ‘Fired Up,’”  Olsen told MovieHole. “They were like, ‘This is our guy’ but they didn’t have financing in place. … I booked it — but because the budget was so huge, they couldn’t get the money.”

While MTV’s Splash Page reports the movie was confirmed as going into production last September, there’s been no reports since that time surrounding the film.

“It was a really funny script — about a reluctant hero who gets in way over his head — and it had a lot of really cool stunts,” added Olsen. “I had a blast working with all of those guys. Then we get a phone call just as we were starting the deal to say they hadn’t got the financing. I’m not attached anymore.”
