It’s the time of year when fans begin to wonder if their favorite series will be back for another season. This week’s Slice of SciFi poll asks fans to choose which “on the bubble” series they would most like to see renewed and today, SciFi Wire has an article “handicapping” the odds for return of 11 genre shows.
The news is good for “Heroes” and “Fringe” according to the article. Those are both shoe-in’s for renewal.
The article rates the chances for a return of “Chuck” as 50/50 and says “Medium” has the same odds to make it to a new season. The article speculates that should “Chuck” return, it would be a reduced epsiode count.
And according to SciFi Wire, “Reaper” may get a renewal as well. While it’s not been a ratings gang-buster, it has held its own against “American Idol” and that may push CW to renew the show.
On the bad news side, the article gives little hope to “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “Dollhouse” or “Knight Rider” (which hasn’t been officially cancelled yet, as many of the “Knight Rider” fans constantly point out to me in the comments).
Kyle Nin says
In Chicago, “Reaper” isn’t always on against “American Idol”, because the network that airs the show (WGN) also broadcasts sports, like basketball and baseball, which push both “Reaper” and “90210” later into the night.
I don’t know if it’s the same for other cities.
