Who Costumes the Watchmen?

April 3, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News, Merchandise

Somewhere, you just know Alan Moore has to cussin’ up a storm.
Eastern Toys, an on-line retailer of officially licensed costumes and accessories, has created a new line of costumes based on “Watchmen.”  Fans can buy their own outfit to look like the Comedian or your very own Dr. Manhatten mask.  (No word yet on if it includes a full-frontal nudity body suit costume)
The line includes costumes for the characters Rorschach, the Comedian, Ozymandias, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre, the company is also offering deluxe masks for Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan, and even a wig for those who need some help copying the Silk Spectre’s long, straight hair.
“We’re excited about the release of the Watchmen costumes and accessories,” said Eastern Toys CEO Dave Fisch. “Thanks to the success of the film and the fan following of the book as a whole, the costumes sales are enormous for the summer conventions and Halloween.”

This website is obviously just a retailer.. The Watchmen costumes featured are manufactured by Rubies.. I just saw them in their 2009 catalog when I was visiting my friend’s Halloween shop a couple of days ago.
