Audiences Head to “Witch Mountain”

March 15, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

Audiences raced to the box-office this weekend to see Dewyane Johnson’s latest Disney family-friendly film, “The Race to Witch Mountain” according to box-office results.  The new movie had a solid opening, taking in just over $25 million at the box-office.

It was enough to knock out last week’s top grossing film, “Watchmen.”  The adaptation of the graphic novel fell 67% from last weekend, taking in just over $18 million and putting the superhero film in second.

Coming in third was the remake of “The Last House on the Left” with around $14 million in receipts.

“Taken” continued its solid box-office returns, placing fourth and in fifth was “Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail.”
