Rourke (Finally) Signs As “Iron Man 2″ Villain

After weeks of back and forth discussions, Marvel Studios and actor Mickey Rourke have finally come to an agreement that will see Rourke star as one of the villains in “Iron Man 2.”

According to Deadline Hollywood, the two sides agreed to the deal yesterday.  Terms of the deal were undisclsoed but the deal is said to be more than the $250,000 Marvel Studios offered initially.

Rourke will play a Russian villian in “Iron Man 2.”  Whether or not this character is the Crimson Dynamo from the comic books and as previously reported remains to be seen.

Marvel Studios hasn’t yet officially confirmed this report.  According to reports, they are waiting to make sure the deal is final and the ink is dry on the contract.

Also of interest, Deadline Hollywood reports that Rourke was in the running to be a villian for “Spider-Man 4.”  Whether or not he can or would appear in both franchises remains to be seen.

    Mickey Rourke will be a great addition to the Iron Man crew; he’s a really talented actor despite all the other drama he attracts to himself
