The latest rumor concerning “Doctor Who” is that British actress, Hannah Murray, is the leading candidate to play the Doctor’s next companion with the series returns in 2010.
Murray is best known for her work on the BBC series, “Skins.”
A BBC insider said: “Hannah did some challenging stuff in Skins and they see her as an up-and-comer.”
Of course, this is all a rumor and speculation until we get something official from the BBC. Other actresses linked to the role by the press have included Michelle Ryan, Lily Allen, Kelly Brook and Georgia Moffett.
If cast, Murray would join new Doctor, Matt Smith.
Again, this report is just a rumor at this point.

For some reason I read the title and thought “Bill Murray.” Not that I think Bill Murray couldn’t pull off the role of companion, mind you.

Bill Murray would be perfect casting. 😉

Skins is a Channel 4 show, not the BBC but is aired on BBC America in the States, which may be the confusion. She is a really compitant actress and would be great as a companion.

I was thinking Bill Murray, too. That would have been awesome. At least Bill Murray has better teeth.
