March 9, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: On Stage

Just to prove that it’s not just Hollywood that’s run out of idea, we bring you news that the 1990 film, “Ghost” will be transformed into a stage play, reports Variety.   The show is slated to open in London next year and would re-tell the story of man killed, who stays in our world to protect the woman he loves and solve the mystery of his own murder.

The original writer of the film, Bruce Joel Rubin, will adapt the screenplay for the stage.

And, yes, the stage version will be a musical.

The original “Ghost” was a huge hit in 1990 and the film was nominated for several Acadamy Awards.  Actress Whoopi Goldberg won Oscar gold for her supporting role opposite Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.
