The latest rumor surrounding J.J. Abrams’ upcoming “Star Trek” reboot involves a cameo–and unfortunately, it’s not a confirmation that William Shatner will be in the film.
The rumor, started at last weekend’s WonderCon, is that members of the “Next Generation” crew have a cameo in the film. Part of the storyline includes events taking place during the “Next Gen” era of the show and according to reports, we could see some members of the NCC-1701 D crew on the big-screen.
On Sunday, Latino Review reported from the IDW Comics panel, quoting the panelists that “part of the movie will take place with the Next Generation cast, and to look out for that. Another guy on the panel gave him a quick ‘uh, oh’ look, and smiled.”
So let me get this straight–you can find room for Captain Picard and company , but you can’t find room for the original Captain James T. Kirk? I call shenningans!
So Cool!, with all due 'respect' I personally don't like Capt Kirk that much, so no problem there for me. Also, I'm not much of a comic guy, but I do follow a lot of the content related to most of my favorite Shows or Movies (like Trek, the SW:EU and some other stuff), so a few weeks ago I was reading this prequel comic to the new ST movie and almost at the end DATA made an appearance, and just yesterday I was reading the second part of this comic and guess what, there are even more cameos but I won't spoil it any more just in case any one wants to check them out; I think it's a 'one comic per month' deal.
So I do believe we can expect a few Next Gen cameos, I'd love for that to happen.
Kirk is dead damit....
