What’s Next for “Chuck”?

What’s Next for “Chuck”?

February 18, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 2 Comments

The good news is that “Chuck” is back. And while the series was preempted last week for a Presidential news conference, that may be good news for fans in the long run. With the shift in schedule, it looks like “Chuck” could run its final episodes of the season uninterrupted before culminating in the season finale in April.

But what’s ahead for “Chuck,” you ask.

Executive producer Chuck Fedak sat down with SciFi Wire and offered a few hints on what fans can expect in the rest of season two.

“The second half of the season definitely kind of gets into who the bad guys are and the kind of big confrontation between our team and them as we head into the season finale,” said Fedak.

According to Fedak, this season of “Chuck” is all about Chuck coming to terms with the fact that his life has changed and “that he’s not simply Chuck Bartowski, Nerd Herd supervisor,” Fedak said. “He’s now also part-time spy. In this back half of the season we’re really addressing ‘Can Chuck be a spy?’ He wants this computer out of his head. He wants his old life back, but he’s getting better. It’s fun to see Chuck become a better spy than he probably ever thought he could be. It’s that tension for him of ‘Does he want his old life back? Does he want to be able to have a relationship with Sarah as a normal person, or is he being called to be something greater, to be a hero?'”

And fans have a lot to look forward to when it comes to guest-stars. As we’ve reported, Scott Bakula will have a three-episode arc as Chuck’s father later this year.

“Chuck” airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.

But is there going to be a season 3? That’s what I want to know.

I really enjoyed Chuck Vs. the Suburbs. Hope they build on the it because there were some really interesting possibilities.
