Kilmer May Throw Hat Into Political Ring
Actor Val Kilmer, age 49, is deciding on whether or not he would like to make the New Mexico Governor’s mansion his next address…..for real!
The actor is at the top of the pundit’s list for choices to replace current Governor Bill Richardson once his term ends in 2010.
Always politically active, Kilmer, noted for such roles as Batman, The Saint, villains and good guys in such films as “Top Gun,” “Heat” and “DejaVu” is seriously considering a run for the Governorship as a Democrat. Most recently Kilmer has starred as the voice of K.I.T.T., the robotic-like Mustang featured in NBC’s revamped “Knight Rider” series. His most famous and respected performance was that of Jim Morrison in the semi-docu dramatic film “The Doors.”
“I’m just looking for ways to be contributive,” Kilmer told The Associated Press when asked. “And if that ends up being where I can make a substantial contribution, then I’ll run. It’s really day to day.”
Kilmer is confident of his success if he should decide to throw his hat into the ring. “What I do for a living is listen,” he said. “If I run, I’m going to be the next governor.”
Sound to me like he has already made up his mind.
If he succeeds Kilmer would follow other such notable celebs as Ronald Reagan, Arnold Scwarzenegger, Clint Eastwood, Sonny Bono, just to name a few, who had successful political careers at various levels of local, State and national government.

You got ’splainin’ to do, Lucy!
Actually bring to mind a quote from Kilmer’s *best* work, Real Genius…
I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates who said…
I drank what?
