Film and TV creators Joss Whedon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Firefly”/”Serenity”) and Drew Goddard (“CLoverfield”) have teamed up to bring “The Cabin in the Woods,” a horror film, to the big screen. Both men are involved with writing the script and Goddard will direct.
They have signed on veteran actors Richard Jenkins (“The Visitor,” “Burn After Reading”) and Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing,” “Bottle Shock”) for main roles according to The Hollywood Reporter. Why these two good actors one may ask.
“It’s really just your basic typecasting. When you need two actors to run through the woods in low-cut nighties, you immediately think of Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford,” stated Goddard.
Whedon and Goddard are promising that this film will add a new twist to the classic horror genre concept.
The movie’s plot is being kept under tight wraps. The only thing known for sure is that the veteran actors will portray two average white-collar workers who are somehow strangely connected to this mysterious cabin in the woods.
Look for “The Cabin in the Woods” in theaters on February 5, 2010.
