Elfman Writing Score For “Terminator: Salvation”

January 13, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

Composer Danny Elfman told MTV News that he is working on the musical score for McG’s upcoming “Terminator: Salvation.”

“I just started yesterday” said Elfman who indicated the original “Terminator” theme by composer Brad Fiedel was not in use yet - “I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it]. And if it doesn’t, we [won't]. I never really know what to expect when I begin other than just kind of get into it and have fun. Especially a movie like “T4” – just have fun. So that’s what I intend to do.”

Elfman did say that a track the film’s star hip-hop artist Common will be included. Common plays a freedom fighter who battles Skynet alongside John Connor in the film.

You know, if you slightly adapt the Simpson’s theme, drop in some heavy percussion instead of brass, Yeah, I can just hear it - T4 “Homer”-Style!

Every time I see this headline, my brain instantly jumps to Family Guy: Blue Harvest; the scene where Chris/Luke stumbles across the remains of John Williams.

His exclaimation of terror when they bring in Danny Elfman is priceless!

If only youtube had a clip…
