Gaiman Denies “Doctor Who” Rumors

January 12, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: TV News

Is he or isn’t he?

Apparently, he isn’t.

Author Neil Gaiman is (once again) denying rumors that he will write an episode of “Doctor Who” for the series’ fifth season.    The rumor sprang up last week when io9 reported that the BBC were working on digital effects to create the popular Patrick Troughton nemesis, the Ice Warriors.   According to the report, the classic original series monsters were part of Gaiman’s script called “Faces in the Dust.”

Now, Gaiman is denying the rumors on his personal web site.

“It’s just lies,” he wrote.

“I haven’t denied that my Doctor Who episode “Faces in the Dust” will have Ice Warriors in it, because I’m not writing a Doctor Who episode called “Faces in the Dust” (which is a pretty rubbish title, who makes this stuff up?) and I’ve been having much too much fun not denying anything about Doctor Who, other than admitting to having enjoyed some nice dinners with Mr Moffat, as chronicled on this blog. (If I’d denied it, I would have denied it here, and as you might have noticed, I didn’t.),” he continued.

I hope that Gaiman will write an episode for Dr Who. I like his works so much.
    Especially the “Sandman” comics.
