If you bought “The Dark Knight” on DVD or Blu-Ray last week, you weren’t alone.Â
The first week of the year’s biggest blockbuster saw the largest sales for a home-video release in two years according to Warner Brothers.  In retail outlets, “Dark Knight” moved 10 million DVDs and 1.3 million Blu-Rays last week.  With sales to rental outlets, the movie saw sales of 13.5 million DVDs in its first week.
In addition, nearly 300,000 purchasers of the “Dark Knight” disc activated the digital copy that came packaged with it, Warner reported.
Sales were so big that in just one week, “Dark Knight” is closing in on “Iron Man” as the top selling DVD of the year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Dark Knight” should overtake the Robert Downey, Jr. comic-book adapation as the best-selling title of the year later this week.
