Director Rob Zombie confirmed yesterday that he will direct a sequel to his reboot of “Halloween.”  Zombie also promised that his second installment would bear little resemblence to the second installment from the original “Halloween” series of films, according to Variety.
Zombie’s latest installment will pick up right where his “Halloween” left off and follow the aftermath of Mike Myer’s killing rampage. The story will be told through the eyes of Myer’s sister according to reports.
Zombie had initially said he didn’t want to do a sequel to his 1997 horror remake. However, he reconsidered when drawn back by the character of Michael Myers.Â
“I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again,” Zombie said. “Now, we’ll be hauling a–, and that’s the problem making a movie called ‘Halloween’: If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I’d be fine.”
Dimesion Pictures will produce the film, which is scheduled to begin shooting in March. Zombie and Dimesnion hope to have the new movie in theaters in time for Halloween.
