Audiences Eat Up Leftovers at Box-Office

December 8, 2008 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

The turkey and dressing may be gone, but audiences were gobbling leftovers at the box-office this weekend.

Last weekend’s top grossing film, “Four Christmases” held on to the top spot, taking in $18.2 million according to initial estimates.  The comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon was in the top spot for the second straight weekend and has made $70 million in its two weeks of release.

Coming in second was “Twilight,” taking in just over $12 million.  Third place was held by the Disney animated feature, “Bolt.”

New releases didn’t fare well over the weekend.  Marvel’s new “Punisher: War Journal” was the top grossing new release, taking in $4 million and placing seventh.

Final box-office results will be released Tuesday.
