Once a popular daily soap opera and then revived as a weekly series by NBC, “Dark Shadows” is headed for the silver screen. Tim Burton will bring his own unique vision and style to the movie, which will feature Johnny Depp as Baranbas Collins.
Producer Richard D. Zancuk confirmed the movie will be Burton’s next project with Collider.
The big question now is how will Burton and company bring the series to the big-screen. The original “Dark Shadows” was a daily soap opera that clocked in at over 1100 hours.  Speculation indicates Burton may concentrate on one of the many story arcs the show followed or distill it down further and focus specifically on Depp as Barnabas.

I think a movie version would be awesome,. but would like to see the some of the old actors still in it, if possible…Aferall we can do amazing things with hair and special effects makeup these days, bring back the original Barnabas, and Josette from the 1991 series, That would be so awesome….I am really looking forward to the movie..

I am a huge Dark Shadows fan from the original series. I used to hide behind the couch and watch Barnabas Collins do his thing. I was also a big fan of Quentin Collins, the werewolf cousin. I hope the movie includes him in the story.
Any news of when the movie will be coming out?
