“Chuck” Creator Could Write Next “X-Men” Movie

“Chuck” Creator Could Write Next “X-Men” Movie

November 19, 2008 By Mike Hickerson 6 Comments

Josh Schwartz is negotiating with 20th Century Fox to write the next X-Men movie, “X-Men: First Class” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Schwartz is the creative mind behind “The O.C.,” “Gossip Girl” and “Chuck.”

The new installment of the X-Men series is rumored to be a prequel, focusing on some familiar X-Men as teens or a story focused on several new recruits to Xavier’s School for Mutants.  No word yet on the focus that 20th Century Fox wants to take with the film.

This project hinges on the success of the upcoming “Wolverine” spin-off.  Should that be a hit, “First Class” could be jumped onto the fast track.

Definitely please do prequels however also have a continuation on from where “The Last Stand” left off, potential for 4 or 5 films minimum and lots of money to be made if written well and keep the same actors as those who have been chosen for the all 4 films to date, have been amazing!!!

I have been an X-Men fan as long as I can remember. Over the last few years, I and many of my friends, have longed to see the X-Men series evolve. The leaps and bounds CGI and special effects technology has made can turn this comic series into a perpetual gold mine. The stories are there and the cast is phenomenal! I believe they are headed in the right direction with the X-Men series. The writers need to bring the team together. Rogue needs powers. Introduction of Gambit into Wolverine’s Origins can lead to great things, along with the entire Weapon X story line. I would like to see, as well as other fans I’m sure, more introduction of the characters powers and more villains. Give Rogue the powers she absorbed in the comics. Introduce villains like Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse. The possibilities are endless.
The greatest thing about it is that people will watch it. Stan Lee has a wonderfully creative mind and he has given the world the greatest gift of imagination. Science has brought those to a quasi reality. There is so much potential for a complete series of movies. They can easily make 10 or more and people will never lose interest. It’s the age of heroes! The world looks up to heroes when we need them ourselves. So much potential and money to be made. Hope it never ceases! All the movies have been great thus far.

    I agree with war hero’s,
I think they should introduce rouge how she was in the comic maybe her stealing Ms. Marvels powers and the story about her and gambit.
