Yesterday, we reported the return date for ABC’s “Lost.” Now comes news on how the alphabet network plans to shuffle it’s mid-season schedule.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, ABC is considering swapping the days for “Private Practice” and freshman series, “Life on Mars.”  “Practice” would move to Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST and “Mars would move to Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST following “Lost.”
Both series could be bolstered by their established lead-ins. “Practice” is a spin-off of ABC’s popular “Grey’s Anatomy” and could get a ratings boost from its sister series. “Mars” has some fantastic elements along the lines of “Lost” and ABC is hoping the audience will be more willing to stay around for mind-bending drama following the mind-bending drama of “Lost.”
Both “Practice” and “Mars” had strong debuts this season, but have slowly seen ratings erode.
While nothing is set in stone yet, ABC is expected to confirm the move of these series later this week.

Darn it. I was happy to have Private Practice (which I don’t watch) on Wednesdays, because that meant nothing conflicted with Top Chef (which I do). I haven’t really gotten attached to Life on Mars yet, so I’m pretty sure which series will win my attention after Lost. :-\
