Ten years ago, Warner Brothers released the musical version of “Little Shop of Horrors” to DVD.  The original disc included the original filmed ending to the movie, involving an entire army of plants taking Manhatten. The ending was similar to the original Broadway musical version and cost $5 million to produce. The sequence also took 11 months to film.
Five days later, the DVD was recalled by Warner Brothers. The company didn’t secure the rights to release the footage created for the original ending.  Of course, copies of the original DVD are now collectible and go for a pretty penny on E-Bay.
Thanks to the Internet and YouTube, you can see the original ending.  The entire sequence runs about 25 minutes.
