Jason Bourne has been born again.  Following the world-wide success of the third installment in the Bourne franchise, Universal gave the green light last week for a fourth Bourne movie, according to Daily Variety.
Based on the best-selling novels by Robert Ludlum, the Bourne series has rung up $950 million in box-office reciepts since it began with “The Bourne Identity” in 2002.  The last installment, “The Bourne Ultimatium” took in $440 million worldwide and while it was originally produced as the final installment of the series, in the wake of its success, Universal has reconsidered.Â
According to the Associated Press, Matt Damon is set to reprise his role as the amnesiac hero Jason Bourne and Paul Greengrass will direct the fourth installment. Greengrass directed the last two installments, “The Bourne Supremecy” and “The Bourne Ultimatium.”Â
No word yet on who will pen the script for the next installment of Bourne’s big-screen adventures.

You’re off by a decade. “The Bourne Identity†was released in 2002 not 1992.

Thanks Tad – That is a typo.

Now if someone can instruct Greegrass to lay off the jittery camera style.

I’m not sure if I’m happy about this. I loved the Bourne flicks, but Ultimatum had such a perfect ending to the series that I don’t want them to go back and frak with that.
