“I Learned of Your Website Through My XM Radio”

October 15, 2008 by Sam Sloan   || Category: Fan Mailbag

Dear Slice of SciFi,

I learned of your website through my XM radio and listen every monday morning, even though the show is broadcast on a date delay. Thanks to you I have purchased and enjoyed several sci-fi shows such as Dead Like Me, etc… Thanks. I am a truck driver and get to watch very little TV, but do have a dvd player in my truck.

My question is with you guys n’ girls being so tech savy why can you not put real pictures of yourself on your website? I always think it’s great to put names with faces. Thanks for helping me keep up with this great genre!

Dan, the truck driver

PS. How much do I have to donate to get a signed picture of Summer kickboxing? :)

Dear Dan,

Thanks for letting us know that you enjoy the show from your XM Satellite radio while on the road delivering this country’s much needed goods. We want to thank you and offer up our gratitude for the tireless task you and all the other long-haul, over-the-road truck drivers perform for this nation each and every day. We’re just glad to be able to do our very small part in bringing you some joy and a smile each week.

As to the pics. Whether or not you see the real us is a choice we each have made. So far, only Mike and myself, as well as some of the journalists working on our staff, have opted to put real photos up. Mike and I figured our pics would be a good way to keep bugs out of your computers. ;)

As far as a pic of Summer kickboxing….I could send you one but then this show would loose its news director and script writer as she would surely use her vast repertoire of boxing skills to put me under the mat for good. :)

Thanks for listening Dan,

Sam

I used to be a fan of sci-fi but strangely, have become less engaged in modern stuff. I’m thinking of the original “I am Legend” or the Ray Bradbury, John Wyndham stuff of the 50s and 60s.
