“Heroes” Gotten Much Darker — Good or Bad Thing?

Tim Kring, "Heroes" creator and producer said this past summer that season 3 of the show would be darker. If the season 3 premiere from last week was an indication of the show's new direction, then Kring was certainly correct. If this darker, grizzlier look and feel to the show a good or bad thing for the series?

Better than Season 2 but still some issues to deal with. Listen to them on my podcast I did with my friends for Heroes Season 3:

    So far, I’m really impressed.
I don’t know about anyone else, but for me? The darker the better.
I even want some Unsettlingly Weird thrown in for good measure. Like Syler having a “soft” side? And Mama Petrelli? Wow. Ewwwww!! Yay!!!

Did anyone else get the willies in that scene where Claire is walking around her dark house and Syler’s in there? Between the way that scene was (not) lit, and the music/sound fx…and the actors…I was completely creeped out.
    Bravo, Heroes!!
