The Korean live-action movie “Hansel and Gretel” has been picked up by several distributors around the globe for international distribution.
The film takes an unusual look at an old familiar tale. Always dark, this new “Hansel and Gretel” has been turned into an even darker fantasy about a man who finds himself trapped in the creepy children’s fantasy.
Already making the film festival circuit, the movie, directed by Yim Pil-sung (“Antarctic Journal”), was a big hit at this years Puchon Int’l Fantastic Film Festival and will get its first international exposure at the Vancouver Film Festival this month. It will also be showcased at the upcoming London and Sitges (Spain) Fests.
No word yet on if and when it will be seen in the United States, but with all the positive feedback, sooner rather than later seems likely.
