Rumors that the second half of “Battlestar Galactica”‘s fourth season wouldn’t air until April spread like wildfire across the Internet yesterday. The reports came from a panel at last weekend’s DragonCon panel where star Aaron Douglas said that the final episodes might not air until sometime next summer.
SciFi has issued a statement, denying the rumors and stating that the beginning of the end of “Galatica” will start in January of 2009.
“It is still slated to return January 2009,” a spokesman for the channel told SciFi Wire.
It could be possible that Douglas was talking about the new two-hour “Battlestar Galactica” movie that was recently commissioned by SciFi. The movie will take place during the current run of the show but is scheduled to air after “Galatica” runs its series finale next spring.  Please note that this is pure speculation on our part and has not been confirmed by SciFi in any way.
