The Future of the Automotive Industry?

August 28, 2008 by Sam Sloan   || Category: Technology News

It’s compact, its futuristic, it scrunches up and shape-shifts like a Transformer. What is it? It’s the automobile of the future…that is, if the Norwegian designer of The Peugeot 888, has his way.

This new design for future road travelers is set to hit the market with the manufacture hoping that this kind of technology will be all you see on the streets within the next 20 years. It is fueled by solar panels and ion lithium batteries and boasts of motors for each wheel.

The Peugeot 888 has room for two passengers and a small amount of luggage, and with the push of a button can transform itself into a slick, aero-dynamic highway cruiser or a very small and compact car for easy parking. Just be sure you, your passenger and luggage or out of the vehicle before hitting the scrunch button.

I agree, the car looks really futuristic but as for me, it is better to create cars with 4 places or at least 2 =)

I grow weary of closed minded experts we have to be open to all options no matter hwo unlikely our energy solutions my come from a small r&d company or even out of someones garage.

I like the Peugeot 888 It looks very Sci Fi. Personally I am hoping that the Chevrolet Volt will live up to its hipe and beat some competitors to the electric car market. It has been a long time since Chevrolet has won the Super Bowl! As an American I always pull for the underdog. Can you believe that GM is now an Underdog?
