“MasterMind” Mines Big Voice Talent

Actress Tina Fey (”30 Rock”) and Robert Downey Jr. (”Iron Man,” “Tropic Thunder”) are in negotiations to voice characters in DreamWorks Animation’s “MasterMind,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

The animated feature film centers on a super villain who, after accidentally killing-off his nemesis and good guy superhero called Uberman, must find a new motivation for continuing to live on.

Red Hour Films (owned by Ben Stiller) will produce the film based on a script from Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons with the director’s chair being shared by Cameron Hood and Kyle Jefferson. Both men directed “First Flight” together and were animators for such films as “Shark Tale,” “The Prince of Egypt” and more. Director Gary Trousdale (”Shrek the Halls” and 1991’s “Beauty and the Beast”) was originally picked to helm the project. This will be Schoolcraft and Simons’ first major writing project, however, they both have diverse acting and production experience on hit films like “Oh Brother Where Art Thou,” “”Not So Silent Pictures,” “The Big Lebowski,” and others.

DreamWorks has “MasterMind” set for a November 5, 2010 theatrical release.
