Marvel and Madhouse Team Up For Japanese Fans

August 28, 2008 by Sam Sloan   || Category: News

Marvel and Madhouse are joining forces to bring some of Marvel’s best known superheroes to anime in a push to make the comic giant’s cast of characters better known in Japan and a major competitor in the tight Japanese anime market.

The first set of superheroes to hit as a series will be Iron Man and Wolverine. They will be introduced primarily to cell phone users and as a jumping point for merchandize and other collectibles. Four series for each is planned for sometime in 2010.

I wonder if any other comics have made any headway in Japan. You would think that since the Spiderman movies have been so big that maybe Spidey has swung over to Asia. It is interesting how popular manga has become in the states.
