There’s a New Stone in Britain & it’s Not Stonehenge
The SCI FI Channel has been able to get the U.K. pay TV rights to the first two seasons of “Eli Stone,” the ABC American dramedy starring Jonny Lee Miller with recurrent appearances by English singing icon George Michael.
The SCI FI deal was negotiated by Mark Lawrence, NBC Universal Global Network’s director of global acquisitions, and Catherine Powell, Disney-ABC-ESPN Television’s senior VP of program distribution, EMEA (North). The SCI FI Channel is owned by NBC Universal.
“Eli Stone” will be a good fit with British audiences as the humorous elements employed throughout the show are reminiscent of some of the best in classic and smart British comedy.
The American-made series revolves around a San Francisco lawyer named Eli Stone who begins to see things, including George Michael singing in the weirdest places, which leads him to discover a brain aneurysm. But his visions lead him to accept cases with little monetary gain but a lot of moral goodness that sends him on exciting adventurous escapades.
SCI FI in the UK will also get free-to-air rights for the full first season of “Eli Stone.”

Eli Stone is a berath of fresh air. Whole different concept for the typical tv show series. I’m sure the UK audience will love it.
