Batman Settles For #2
Warner Bros. is predicting that its giant box office hit film “The Dark Knight” won’t surpass current B.O. champ “Titanic,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
James Cameron’s movie about the infamous ship that could not be sinked and was lost on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic after colliding with an iceberg, will still hold its number one standing with a comfortable marginal lead. It garnered $601 million domestic, while the new contender for the throne, “The Dark Knight” is projected to top-out at around $520 million domestic, when all is said and done. Those numbers come from Warner Bros. top brass.
“‘Titanic’ was once in a lifetime, and I don’t think we’ll ever have another gross like that in the history of the industry,” Warner Bros. domestic distribution president Dan Fellman said. “Of course, if there is one, I’d like to have it.”

Titanic was an overated load of guff, I hope that it is overtaken and forgotten about sooner rather than later.
