Sky One is on the Fringe

Earlier this week we broke the news that Sky One had acquired the TV rights to show Ron Moore and David Eick’s new BSG spinoff “Caprica.” Now the Sat Network has upped the ante by grabbing a hold of J.J. Abrams’ new Fox drama series “Fringe” direct from Warner Bros. International TV Distribution.

Sky One is serious about the potential of this show and has poney’d up an undisclosed sum in the millions of dollars per episode to be able to air the program. Also getting on board the “Fringe” mania was Kanal 5, the Swedish TV conglom.

“Fringe” centers on a female FBI agent put in charge of investigating strange happenings. To carry out her assignment she must work closely with a disgruntled institutionalized scientist, whose job it is to bring some kind of rational explanation for the brewing storm of unexplained phenomena.

“Fringe” will air on Fox in the U.S. beginning this September.

  1. Apparently Sky1 fought off Channel 4 and Virgin 1 to obtain the UK rights. Good to see Fringe going global!

Watching TV on Sky 1 is horrible, it is almost as bad as america or adverts.

I used to pay for sky but then downloaded the programs from eztv as the adverts made watching a tv show such a horrible experience.

  5. I agree, it sounds llike X-Files, but it wont be.
