We talked about this possibility several months ago on one of our shows and now it looks like MGM will make it a reality….RoboCop is coming back!
MGM is getting ready to jumpstart the “RoboCop” franchise and wants to see the part man, part machine law enforcer back on the streets fighting crime and putting away the bad guys by 2010.
Also as we predicted, Darren Aronofsky (”The Fountain”) will direct the project. He is currently working on three movies, a thriller titled “Black Swan,” “The Fighter” and a film starring the very talented Mickey Rourke and Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei called, “The Wrestler.”
Now to some new rumors concerning the startup of RoboCop. MGM is trying to keep the plot for this new one secret but already the Hollywood rumor mill is saying it will continue in the vein of sci-fi but move in a direction far more reminiscent of the classic film noir, which could be kind of cool if done right.
