Not Cool Batman!

Batman star Christian Bale was arrested Tuesday on allegations of assault, London police said.

It is reported that Bale’s mum and sister made a formal complaint that the actor physically assaulted them at the Dorchester Hotel in London while they were all in town for the big weekend London opening of his blockbuster film “The Dark Knight.”

After a police investigation into the allegations, Bale, who hails from Wales, was arrested on Tuesday morning after Bale, now 34, turned himself in to a station in central London. Even though Bale’s name was not officially named to the press by police, there is no question it was the actor who has been charged with assault.

If the charges prove to be true — two words “NOT COOL!” Short of your life being threatened, one thing a son never does is hit his mother. Bad move Batman!

One can only wonder what effect this will have on the rest of ticket sales for “The Dark Knight,” already a box office record breaker and his next big film “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins,” in which Bale stars as freedom fighter John Connor in a war-torn future in which humanity is dominated by the machines of their own creation. This next Terminator movie is due in theaters in direct competition with the new “Star Trek” film in May 2009.

If you read the more stories you will find out that it may not be all that cut and dry. It may be a "verbal" assault or a shoving between two parties or many other things. It looks to be over a long running family argument. I think we should hold judgement until we have all the facts.

I agree. That is why our article says "If the charges prove to be true — two words “NOT COOL!”

It was probably an elaborate scheme by Schumacher, who impersonated Bale by disguising himself with make-up he bought with his Bat Credit Card, to keep the three people who liked his movies from seeing the new one and laughing in his face.

why is it that super rich/movie stars/ uber popular people do stupid crap? um... let me tell ya if im one of the hottest movie stars in the world... im not gonna do something stupid thats gonna get me arrested... i don't understand what the malfunction is.... maybe thats why im not rich/a movie star/uber popular. idk

  8. I am guessing this is exactly why Bale keeps away from the media as much as possible. He has all ready been tried and found guilty in the court of popular opinion. All the while the people spreading the rumours are nicely hiding behind terms like 'allegedly' and 'if this is true'. So few (including this site) seem to be reporting that Bale has denied the accusation and that he *hasn't* been charged.

    Not true Captain Kibble...read on!

BTW: Words like alleged do not imply guilt...that is why alleged is used. If articles like ours and others wanted to imply his guilt before innocence is proved, we would write the articles in such a way that indicates side-taking or in a way that slants positively toward the accuser.

That's not the way it happened in this case. At least not with our article. We remained neutral and only reported what was stated and known at the time.
