   I just seen it last night and Heath Ledger blew me away with his performance. He is definitly the best Joker. His death truly saddens me.

   No doubt that Ledger’s performance was amazing, however, for me, the best Joker will always be Mark Hamill. He captured this wonderful mix of goofiness and insanity that I truly loved. Ledger was a different kind of Joker, who was more insane than a jokester, which fits in with the tone of Nolan’s Batman movies because his attempts are at realism, and the role came to life because of him, but the Animated Joker, I think, is the closest to the character in the comics.

   This is such a hard call. Each Joker was ideal for the setting they were in. Romero was great campy fun with a series that was campy fun. Nicholson reinvented himself with Burton’s vision of the Joker, and no one can beat Hamill’s animated Joker. Ledger brought a new dynamic to an already dark character in a version of Batman that looks for more realism. They each have their merit.

   Heath FTW! But this likely has to do with me, because with characters like the Joker I think the darker the interpretation the better. And Heath went very, very dark.

   *winces at the thought of the disappearing pencil trick*

   It wasn’t just Heath’s performance it was the writting. Many other incarnations of Joker were just about spreading chaos but DK’s Joker had a very specific agenda. He really wanted to show us the worst of ourselves; who we really are at the core. I think there are a handful of actors who could pull off a good Joker in future movies but story wise there’s not reason to do a Joker heavy story again any time soon. It will be interesting to see of Nolan is up for another movie. After all the tragedy association with DK you might think he wouldn’t want to do another.

   I haven’t seen Mark’s performance in the cartoon version, but out of the other 3 I think Heath’s was the best. His performance should really earn him an Oscar.

   I know he only played him on the radio but I think Kerry Shale was great as the Joker

   OK. none of you have taste in any joker. Ceasor Romero was deffinately the only joker willingly to fit his role. If Heath Ledger was so good then why did he over dose, Getting to close to the role wasnt he! Another thing, Animated Joker, No fun at all. Jack Nicholason was a hoot, you really cant help but think Jack was a good fit for the role since he is wee bit insane. Anyways back to Heath. I saw the movie, The guy who played batman sucked, Heath was amazing pretty much. I hated how everyone gloats over him since thats the only movie they saw of the joker. So I reconmend you go back to Ceasor and watch him. Plus Harvey Dent was Black in the original, so thanks a lot Nolan for poisoning there minds. only good batmans were with Michael Keaton, he knows how to play a role

   I like Heath’s insane, dark and twisted Joker; Jack Nicholson was pretty good, but I couldn’t bring my self to really like Cesar’s portrayal. He was too… ha-ha funny Joker. I much prefer the insane and twisted Joker, and Heath is better then Jack in that regard.

   The Animated Series is okay; I like that Joker better than Cesar, in that his laugh is actually somewhat insane.

    Honestly, I fell in love with Heath’s first. Was not a Joker or even Batman fan before TDK! But my dad took me to see it and well, now I sleep with a Joker doll! So Heath’s has a special place in my heart. But Jack’s was good too. I saw that movie right after TDK at my mom’s friend’s house and he just amazed me! I love that Joker so very very very much! And then there’s Cesar’s. I’m addicted to his. He has the perfect voice and laugh and I find myself franticly searching YouTube for his Joker. I especially like that one episode where he does a little chant while he ties Batsy and Bird Brain up and I go around singing it lol! But the one I voted for was Mark’s because his voice is how the Joker should sound and his Joker has funny jokes and let’s face it, we all love him paired with Arleen Sorkin! So yeah. But if the one from The Batman (Kevin Micheal Richardson I think) I would have voted for him in a heartbeat! So even though I wasn’t a fan until TDK, I think it’s easy to see that I’m an obsessed fangirl. Thank you. Good night.
