Hellboy II Wins the Weekend
The weekend opening of “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” is doing well with an estimated box office of nearly $36 million for its 3-day effort, but pales in comparison over other genre films to have opened since the first of the year.
Coming in with a very close second will be last weekend’s winner “Hancock,” the Will Smith starrer only $3 million behind Hellboy.
In fact of all the films out over the last 3 days, the top 10 is residence for 9 SF and genre-related films, a first since these kinds of stats have been kept.
