July 8, 2008 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: TV

New details on the upcoming Battlestar Galatica movie were revealed this morning by IGN.

According to reports, actor Edward James Olmos will be in the director’s chair for the upcoming two-hour movie.

The movie will begin shooting after the fourth season is completed and will be written by Jane Espenson from an outline by David Weddle and Bradley Thompson. The writing team of Wheddle and Thompson were planning to write the film but recently joined the writing staff of CSI, leading to a schedule conflict.

According to reports, the movie will center on feature Aaron Douglas, Dean Stockwell, Katie Sackoff, Grace Park, Michael Hogan and Michael Trucco. It is rumored the movie will focus on the Cylons, though there is no word yet on where the movie will fall within the Galatica time-line.

I would hazard a guess this two hour movie will be 90 minutes long.
