“Bonekickers”

“Bonekickers”

June 30, 2008 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

Our fans in the U.K. will be happy to hear about a new miniseries coming from the creators of “Life on Mars” and “Ashes to Ashes” called “Bonekickers.”

This six-part series follows a dynamic team of archaeologists who, each week, uncover a compelling mystery from the past.

In episode one titled Army of God, Dr Gillian Magwilde and her team find the remains of medieval knights in the West Country. With religious fanatic Edward Laygass on their tail, could they really be about to find the True Cross?

The series stars Julie Graham (“William and Mary”) in the lead as Gillian Magwilde and Adrian Lester (“Primary Colors,” “Case 39”) as Dr. Ben Ergha. The remaining support cast includes Hugh Bonneville (“Tsunami: The Aftermath”), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“Doctor Who”) and Michael Maloney (“Waking the Dead”).

The new miniseries is set to premiere Tuesday, July 8 on BBC One.

Based on the preview trailer, “Bonekickers” looks pretty exciting. Let’s hope BBC America picks it up for the North American audience.
