“Wall*E” Lifts-Off Weekend Box Office
The latest from Disney/Pixar/Buena Vista is “Wall-E” and it looks like it will be the runaway winner of this weekend’s box office. It is estimated that the little robot-who-could will beat out its number one contenter, the sci-if adaptation of the graphic novel “Wanted” by over $10 million.
If current projections stand up then “Wall*E” is likely to garner over $62 million, while “Wanted” can boast of a second place win with over $51 million for its take.
Rounding out the top five is likely to be last weekend’s winner “Get Smart” at #3 with another $20 million added to its totals, Jack Black’s animated hit film “Kung Fu Panda” at #4 with a 4-week total of over $179 million for its efforts and at #5 is the mean greenie, “The Incredible Hulk” with a 3-week total of over $115 million.
For the Weekend Final Top Ten domestic box office tally stay tuned to Slice of SciFi when we will have the numbers posted on Tuesday of this week.

Another hit for Pixar the kings of computer animated movies.
Part Charlie Chaplin’s Modern times, part morality tale. Pixar just keeps getting better and better. Might be a bit too slow in spots for real young ones. But great movie over all, and highly enjoyable. We all loved it here. Now if Darcy would stop using that voice we can go back to normal. Whatever that was.
