“Road Train” On Track

June 3, 2008 by Sam Sloan   || Category: Film News

“Road Train” is a new supernatural thriller about a group of teens being scared to death by a meancing road train (doubled-up semi trucks) that has no driver while traveling through the Australian outback.

Not sure what it is about Aussies and their terror trains, but this one comes from London-based Territorial Film Developments and ProdigyMovies.

First-time director Dean Francis will get a crack at helming the film from a script written by Clive Hopkins (”Holiday Romance”).

Territorial and Prodigy were responsible for last year’s successful youth-oriented scare-fest “Black Water,” a film about three young people whose fishing trip goes horribly wrong when their boat is attacked by crocodiles in the mangrove swamps of Northern Australia.

A shout-out and big thanks to Chris from Australia for clearing up the cultural understanding of just what a Road Train is. Now the movie is starting to make sense. ;)

A road train is just a big, big, truck. A semi with 3 or more trailers. This movie sounds like Duel except that the teens are terrorised by a driverless road train.

You can see some pictures of some big road trains if you click my name above.

Overtaking one of these suckers in the outback is an experience to say the least.
