According to the BBC, Steven Moffat, the scribe responsible of “Blink” and several other excellent “Doctor Who” episodes, will be taking over for Russell T Davies once he steps down at the end of 2009.

Welcome to the mid-week installment of Slice of SciFi! On today's show, we talk to Salli Richardson-Whitfield. You probably know her best from her role as Dr. Allison Blake on SyFy's Eureka. Salli is also a guest at the upcoming Phoenix Comicon, so if you're in the area why don't you stop by and say hello! And you can also catch some of the Slice crew there as well.

That should be Moffat, with one "T".
I looked up Stephen Moffatt on IMDb and got an actor instead of the "Doctor Who" writer.
Sorry, I forgot to also mention that his first name is Steven, not Stephen.
Fantastic news
Oh damn it... the internet folk are going to be giddy
Steven also wrote "Jekyl" for the BBC. It's a six episode mini-series starring James Nesbitt. Scary and hilarious.
Fan-frakkin'-tastic! Moffat is easily the best writer on the series, and one of my favourite TV writers ever.
Great!
Now all that needs to happen is Catherine Tate spontaneously combust and doctor who will be completely saved.
He will do a great job. I am officially re-energized for Who.
I love the idea of Moffat taking over, but I hope that David Tennant will stay on for Series 5, which will be Moffat's first series. Tennant has been wonderful.
Fantastic news! IMO, Steven wrote the only episodes of the new series which were actually worth watching - he *gets* Doctor Who in a way which Russell T. Davies has completely failed to do. My rather depressed outlook on the new series has suddenly been replaced with optimism!
THANK YOU JESUS.....nuff said
doing my happy dance....
As long as he doesn't end every time travel paradox episode with "wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey." Jeez, you'd think no one had ever addressed the time travel paradox before...
I'm cool with that.
I like Tate. I want Tate and tennant to stay more then one series. Looking foward to Muffet
Great news! I'm also a fan of Tate. Despite a weak first two episodes, this season of ‘Doctor Who’ has been fantastic. Can't wait for Moffat's 2-parter next week.
'Jekyl' was a fantastic show. Wasn't it Steven Moffat who also wrote 'Coupling'?, in my opinion another great BBC show.
