Frank Miller and Lionsgate have decided, after the great reception the film got at the New York ComicCon, to move up Miller’s highly anticipated film, “The Spirit,” to premiere on Christmas Day - December 25, 2008. It was originally set for a January 16, 2009 premiere.

The action-adventure, which marks Miller’s solo directorial debut, stars Gabriel Macht in the lead, with a strong supporting cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes.

“The Spirit,” tells the story of a supposed slain cop named Denny Colt who returns from the dead to fight crime, put away the bad guys and track a cold-blooded killer in the darkend streets of Central City.
