Trek novels previewed at New York Comic-Con

April 22, 2008 By Michael Hickerson 3 Comments

Simon and Shuster, publisher of the Star Trek tie-in novels, previewed what’s to come in the Trek universe last weekend at the New York Comic Com. The panel was run by Trek line editors Marco Palmieri and Margaret Clark and authors David Mack, Christopher Bennett and Keith R.A. DeCandido according to a report on Trek Today.

Currently in bookstores, on-line and in e-book format are the first two installments of a three-novel series looking at Bajor under the rule of the Cardassians called Star Trek: Terok Nor. Written by several popular authors from the popular Deep Space Nine re-launch, the series is set to conclude in June with Terok Nor: Dawn of Eagles written by S.D. Perry and Britta Denson. The novels continue to explore the DS9 universe and re-launch in June with the release of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Fearful Symmetry by Olivia Woods. Symmetry is set to pick up where the events of the last DS9 novel left off and anxious fans have been waiting over a year for the next installment.

The novels will take a trip back to the mirror universes, following up on last year’s successful trade paperback mirror universe publications. The trade paperback releases in the Myriad Universes series will hit shelves in July and August.

A new primer called Star Trek 101 will be published in September. This resource is designed to prime the more casual fans for the release of Trek XI next year.

In 2009, Voyager fans can look forward to the publication of the first new Voyager novel in several years. Voyager: Full Circle by Kristen Beyer will debut in April 2009 and pick up where the events of Spirit Walk, Book 2 concluded. The panel said that the novel would give the Voyager storyline continuation and new tone and direction.

After the jump is a listing of all the books announced by the panel:

also some good sequel tng novels to nemesis would be wanted.

not like those 2 borg books that came out recently which got very poor reviews, like resistance and that one with seven of 9.

more books continuing the 8 year mission of the nx-01 would be nice, since they cancelled enterpise after only four seasons.

hey maybe they could season 4 and 5 of tos five year mission as novels, that would be awesome.
