Helfer signs deal with FOX

April 9, 2008 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: News

There’s good news today for fans of looking to get a weekly dose of Tricia Helfer on their television sets. The actress has signed a one-year talent holding deal with the FOX network. The network is eager to cast Helfer in a new series, probably a drama, for the upcoming television season.

According to the Hollywood Reporters, Helfer came to the attention of FOX casting director Marcia Shulman for her work on Battlestar Galactica, a role in a FOX pilot last year and her upcoming work in the feature film Walk All Over Me. Walk Over Me is independent production that stars Helfer and Leelee Sobeski.

“She was so incredible in it,” Shulman said. “She had a pretty remarkable range, she showed vulnerability and strength. She is a star.”

No word yet on the specific project Helfer will work on for FOX. She can currently be seen in the final season of Battlestar Galactica, airing on the Sci-Fi Channel.

What ever happened to “Them”, anyway? Is FOX ever going to move ahead with the series, or will it always be an unaired pilot?
